MY COLLEGE DEGREES & CERTIFICATIONS, TEACHING AND/OR PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

I graduated from the University of Central Florida with my B.A. in Elementary Education. Prior to teaching at MINA I was a VPK teacher in Florida for 4 years. I have worked with children in all grade levels up to fifth grade from private schools to Title 1 schools, dealing with a wide variety of backgrounds.

MY EXPECTATIONS FOR MY CLASSROOM THIS YEAR

My expectations in the classroom are to create not just lifelong learners but respectful learners. We will have a lot of fun in my classroom but with fun has to come the respect even from the younger grades; teach them young!

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My teaching philosophy is love first, then learn. I think it is very important to have some kind of connection with the students to create a positive learning atmosphere which in turn creates students WANTING to learn and have fun.

MY HOBBIES, INTERESTS & THINGS I DO OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL

My hobbies include doing any kind of craft or DIY project. I have three kids at home so we are always up to something. I just got a cricut machine so send your tips and tricks if you have them!!

SOMETHING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT ME

Some people would be surprised to learn that although I am little, I am mighty and have a blackbelt in Karate and in Tae Kwon Do.
