I received my Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University and am currently working on my Masters Degree in Elementary Education through Western Governors University.

MY EXPECTATIONS FOR MY CLASS ROOM THIS YEAR

I am so excited to be here and I hope that our 3rd grade MINA scholars share some of that excitement! By the end of this year, I hope that I have helped your children grow, not only in math and science but as kind human beings. I am so lucky to have them as part of my MINA family.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I want students to be engaged and to be active participants in their learning. While I am their third grade teacher, the learning doesn’t stop with me since every student is a lifelong learner! I hope that they will ask questions to further their understanding. Your scholar will be challenged in my class but I will also always be a resource for them.

MY HOBBIES, INTERESTS & THINGS I DO OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL

My family and I are big outdoorsy people. We love camping and going on hikes, bike rides and sitting by a campfire. I also love to play Ultimate Frisbee and any sport in general!

SOMETHING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT ME

I love to eat but I am a horrible cook. If you have any recipes that I can attempt to learn, I would greatly appreciate it!
