I have a B.A. in Spanish and certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. This is my first year teaching at MINA, but my 4th year in the classroom. Previously I taught high school Spanish at two different schools in Eastern North Carolina.
MY EXPECTATIONS FOR MY CLASS ROOM THIS YEAR
We will treat one another the way we want to be treated. We will show kindness by building others up. We will include everyone, every time. We will make mistakes and learn from them. We will apologize when we make mistakes and forgive one another.
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
When my students enter my classroom my three main goals for them are to become critical thinkers, to learn how to work with people that are different than them and to become global learners. I believe that these are skills that will be helpful not only in school, but in life outside of school for the rest of their lives.
MY HOBBIES, INTERESTS & THINGS I DO OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
After school I usually take my dog Winston to the dog park, try new recipes and watch the latest Netflix series. I like to listen to true crime podcasts, read for fun and explore new places in North Carolina.
